Temenos Contractor Appointed

Tees Valley Giant, Temenos has taken another step forward with the appointment of contractors who will turn images into a landmark.

The North Eastern arm of Balfour Beatty, an international engineering and construction services firm, has been awarded the contract to deliver the jaw-dropping sculpture and will be working with local companies to bring the project to fruition.

Tees Valley Unlimited chief executive Joe Docherty said; "This is another giant step forward for the project. Temenos is the first of the five projects so obviously we are delighted that a firm of Balfour Beatty's calibre is now on board to deliver what is a world class scheme.

"Temenos has been very well received and a lot of hard work has been done to secure the project. We can now look ahead to next year when we will unveil a new landmark for future generations."

Neil Barnes, Managing Director (Northern) Balfour Beatty Regional Civil Engineering said; "We are delighted to be awarded the construction contract for this unique structure and to be continuing our working relationship with Tees valley Unlimited.

"Our experienced project team has hit the ground running and is preparing to deliver the exciting Temenos project. It will involve working from pontoons over water and include the installation of a 45 metre high mast to support the eye catching structure, the various elements of which will be fabricated together on site and lifted into place as one piece."
