Education & Training

The Tees Valley has 2 universities, Teesside and Durham, into which over £140m has been invested over the past decade, alongside 6 further education colleges, who have benefited from over £78m of investment. They all provide business-facing, bespoke packages of training, as well as off-the-shelf courses and apprenticeships.

Our world-class HE and FE facilities are backed up by a network of specialist training providers including: the North East Polymer Centre, based in Stockton, which offers top-class manufacturing training and the Farraday Centre, is one of the UK’s leading high and low-voltage electrical training providers. In addition, the Tees Valley has 13 Centres of Vocational Excellence, including Engineering & Construction at NETA Training, Specialised Engineering for the Process Industries at Redcar & Cleveland College and TTE Training, and Logistics Excellence North East, based at Middlesbrough College.
